RE: Limington

Hi John,

Thought you'd be interested in the attached letter of support I received from Ms. Maddocks, where she shows no concern for the "financial impact" that a 24 unit low income housing complex would have.  On the one hand she wants to preserve Route 25 for "commercial development" but on the other hand states that none are proposed "of any type"  Oh well!  FYI  Genie

Re: Proposal for Elderly Housing
      in Limington

Dear Nakell:

The Board of Selectmen were extremely pleased to learn of the proposed 24-unit apartment complex for elderly housing for which application for funding is being undertaken.

The Board strongly believes that such a project would be very beneficial to the people of Limington.  Many of Limington's elderly citizens are being forced to relocate to other areas after having spent their entire lifetimes in Limington.  Such relocation usually involves a great deal of emotional and psychological stress for our senior citizens.  If an elderly housing complex were available here in Limington, many our seniors would be able to remain in their hometown and , thereby, be much happier and healthier in their later years.

The Board looks forward to this project with excitement and will support this project in all possible respects.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact this office.

Sincerely,
Kathleen Maddocks
